Grape variety:  Chardonnay

Producer: Bachelet-Monnot

Alcohol content: 14%

Origin: Burgundy, France

Notes: Marc Bachelet's description of '13 as a 'très terroir' vintage is perfectly born out across his entire range 2013s, not least this superb villages. It's a picture perfect example of Puligny with pristine aromas and flavours of grapefruit, jasmine and elegant green tea. Absolutely brilliant for its level, the wine is drawn from four very well placed sites*, predominantly Les Meix, a site near the grand crus and next to Enseigneurs. The youngest vines here are 25 years old, with an average age that is considerably higher. Like all the wines, 100% indigenous ferment and only 350 litre barrels. Exceptionally fine and minerally close.

 Critical acclaim

The Bachelets make wines that are classically styled, emphasizing the inherent freshness, complexity and minerality in each cuvée... This is a new producer to follow." Stephen Tanzer, International Wine Cellar, Sept/Oct 2007

“The Whites are exceptionally fine.” Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy

Food Pairing: Cauliflower and crab ravioli, Halibut, Crispy shrimp
