Grape variety:  Riesling

Producer: Domaine Paul Blanck

Alcohol content: 13%

Origin: Alsace, France

Notes: Bright straw-green. Tropical fruit, lime, passion fruit and minerals on the enticing nose. Deep, exotic flavors of ripe citrus and tropical fruits are large-scaled and almost fat, but although this riesling finishes rich, ripe and long, it maintains a suave quality thanks to its low pH (3.14) and enamel-piercing acidity. I barely noticed the 14 grams per liter of residual sugar.

Critical acclaim

Tropical fruit, lime, passion fruit and minerals on the enticing nose. Deep, exotic flavors of ripe citrus and tropical fruits are large-scaled and almost fat....-- Ian D'Agata - Score 92 - Nov.2012

Food Pairing: As it stands, given its immaturity we recommend drinking it as an aperitif or with starters, terrines, fish, or typical Alsacian dishes like sauerkraut or hot-pot. In the years to come, it will be a perfect match for warm sea-perch mousseline or delicately-flavoured fish, and eventually for grilled fish.
